Lead Sustainability Engineer
About the Role
- The role requires a professional who will lead and grow the sustainability team and capability and will proactively input to and communicate with all multidisciplinary teams, partners, stakeholders, and clients as well as the Pace corporate business departments as required.
- This role in the MEP department supports standards of behaviours with the appropriate context and culture for the successful implementation of the corporate objectives and will represent Pace at events supporting the sustainable growth of the business across the Middle East region.
- What you will be doing
- Check project deliverables for accuracy and completeness, ensuring the deliverables meet the Client’s requirements, Pace corporate standards and industry best practice standards.
- Collaborate and communicate clearly and concisely with the colleagues, clients, contractors and stakeholders with accomplished influencing and negotiation skills to resolve critical and sometimes conflicting issues or requirements.
- Contribute to client meetings and project reviews of internal and external multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to the development of innovative design solutions and emerging technologies with market insights, whilst reconciling Clients’ and Pace objectives.
- Contribute to the value engineering of technical and value plus solutions.
- Develop and support standardised procedures to achieve project delivery excellence.
- Drive quality through the Pace QM QA-QC processes.
- Ensure effective communications of sustainability with the site supervision teams.
- Ensuring the coordination of RFI’s, shop drawings, warranties, certifications, safety, quality control mock-ups, materials samples to ensure the site installed systems match the Pace design intent and performance requirements.
- Proactively identify and support the mitigation of commercial risks.
- Proactively support innovative business solutions and processes through research, analysis and development in collaboration with the wider business.
- Proactively support the Director of MEP and the Associate Directors with the effective operations of the corporate functions of the business.
- Review and support the interface between specifications, procurement, and QS activities.
- Rigorously challenge project teams across all disciplines to drive performance and efficiency.
Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Wet Utilities
About the Role
- The Lead Infrastructure Engineer, Wet Utilities is the primary “Architect” of the road design and creates the overall road alignments, dimensions, and Right of Way (ROW). This Lead Engineer will create the container envelop for all other infrastructure services to run within the road service corridors and ROW.
- In addition, he/she will be responsible for creating the road profiles and grading that determine the slope and design parameters for the other gravity services and interfaces with adjacent buildings and spaces.
- In a Lead Engineer role, he/she will provide expert advice and leadership to a team of roads and wet utilities engineers to deliver complex projects under Company Digital Delivery process. He/she will also set out the authority approvals strategy and engage with authority reviewing engineers.
What you will be doing
- Creates and determines the technical design parameters for the road and service corridors.
- Interprets the traffic study inputs and outputs and adjusts the design parameters accordingly.
- Liaise with local authorities in obtaining the necessary Authority Approvals for projects.
- Reviews the progress and final design at each stage and shares with other team members and other design teams. ↚
- Prepares and updates typical details to suit the specific project requirements.
- Sets the design method and standards for the gravity services running within the road.
- Undertakes the coordination of services with other infrastructure works.
- Validates the design through simulations and calculations.
- Prepare tender documentation.
- Prepare production information.
- Prepare the concept design.
- Prepare the detailed design.
- Conducts the storm water design analysis and recommendations based on hydrologic analysis reports.
- Required Experience
- 15+ years’ experience in Roads and wet utilities engineering design and integrated project delivery.
- 5+ years of the experience out of the professional years in a Lead Engineer position or equivalent.
- Site Supervision will not be counted towards the experience and it must be Design experience.
- Hands on knowledge of BIM project delivery tools and process.
- Hands on skills and knowledge of Civil3D, Infodrainage/ SewerGems, Navisworks and Infraworks to be able to lead a team of designers in a Digital Delivery environment.
