Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering/Environmental Science/Industrial Safety)
  • NEBOSH IGC (mandatory)
  • ISO Lead Auditor certifications (preferred)
  • 3-5 years' QHSE experience (industrial sector preferred)

Health Safety Environment Officer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management (QMS):

  • · Conduct internal and external quality audits based on ISO 9001 standards.
  • · Monitor and ensure compliance with company quality objectives.
  • · Assist in developing, updating, and implementing SOPs, policies, and work instructions.
  • · Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are documented and tracked.
  • · Maintain and improve the Quality Management System documentation.

2. Health & Safety:

  • · Conduct risk assessments and ensure control measures are in place.
  • · Monitor and enforce compliance with local labor laws and international HSE standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
  • · Lead site inspections, safety drills, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
  • · Recommend improvements for accident prevention and emergency response.

3. Environmental Management:

  • · Ensure environmental compliance in line with ISO 14001.
  • · Monitor waste management, energy usage, and pollution control measures.
  • · Assist in implementing environmental sustainability initiatives.
4. Training & Awareness:
  • · Organize QHSE awareness sessions and toolbox talks.
  • · Provide onboarding QHSE training for new staff.
  • · Maintain training records and competency matrices.
5. Reporting & Documentation:

  • · Maintain QHSE records and generate weekly/monthly performance reports.
  • · Assist in compiling data for management review meetings and certifications.
  • · Ensure timely reporting of incidents, near-misses, and non-conformances.

Education & Certifications:

  • · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or related field.
  • · NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification (mandatory).
  • · ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certifications (preferred).
  • · Additional training in internal auditing, root cause analysis, or risk assessment is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • · Strong knowledge of QHSE regulations and ISO standards.
  • · Auditing, inspection, and incident investigation skills.
  • · Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • · Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • · Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • · Good command of MS Office and QHSE-related software/tools.
Experience Required:
  • · 3–5 years of experience in a QHSE role (preferably in industry: e.g., manufacturing, construction, logistics, oil & gas, etc.).
  • · Proven track record in quality audits and implementation of HSE programs.
  • · Experience in handling regulatory inspections and third-party audits is an advantage.
