Remote Wood and Furniture Draftsman / CAD Detailer


Location: Remote (Egypt-Based)

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description

London Gallery is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Wood and Furniture Draftsman / CAD Detailer. The ideal candidate will translate design concepts, sketches, and specifications into precise technical drawings and shop drawings for manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure accurate and efficient fabrication of wood-based products. This is a fully remote position requiring strong self-management, communication, and technical drafting skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed shop drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and joinery details for furniture, cabinetry, and architectural millwork.

  • Interpret design concepts, sketches, field measurements, and client feedback to create production-ready drawings.

  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and fabrication teams via email, phone, and video conferencing.

  • Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), cut lists, and hardware schedules.

  • Ensure drawings adhere to company standards, industry best practices, and project-specific requirements.

  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback and design changes.

  • Maintain organized digital drawing files and libraries.

  • Stay updated on woodworking techniques, materials, hardware, and relevant software advancements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Draftsman, Detailer, or CAD Technician in woodworking, furniture, cabinetry, or architectural millwork.

  • High proficiency in required CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD 2D/3D).

  • Strong understanding of wood materials, joinery techniques, and hardware integration.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, sketches, and technical specifications.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong spatial reasoning.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines remotely.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Reliable high-speed internet and a suitable remote workspace.

  • Portfolio showcasing relevant technical drawings required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with additional CAD/modeling software (SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, Inventor).

  • Knowledge of CAM software or CNC machining processes.

  • Experience creating 3D models and renderings.

  • Formal training or degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related field.
