Job 1: Appeals Specialist (Remote)
Location: Chicago, IL (Remote)
Hourly Rate: 20–21 USD/hour
The Appeals Specialist is responsible for handling and resolving appeals related to healthcare claims and benefits, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, regulations, and client policies. The role requires excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively to clients, providers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, investigate, and resolve appeals efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations.
Analyze medical documentation, insurance claims, and policy terms to provide accurate decisions.
Communicate outcomes clearly to clients, providers, and team members.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify trends and propose process improvements.
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all appeals handled.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in healthcare claims, insurance, or related fields preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage a high-volume workload.
